Frequently asked questions

How do I care for my garment?

I launder everything I can before I use it. Blouses should be popped into a pillowcase or washbag and washed on your normal machine cycle.  Or handwash if preferred.  Blanket coats can be popped in the machine, unless they are labelled as Dry Clean Only.  Fabric jackets should be spot cleaned only, due to the unknown fabric compositions.

Do you make to order?

No, I don't take specific orders for garments, as everything is made as a one off, but I am happy to discuss making something for you from your own tablecloths, blankets etc.

Do you want my tablecloths/blankets/buttons?

Almost certainly yes, I am always on the lookout for new (old) textiles and love the thought of rescuing something that might otherwise be discarded. Please get in touch on the contact page if you wish to donate.

Where do you get your textiles from?

Anywhere and everywhere I can find them - vintage fairs, antique centres, car boot sales, charity shops and online.

Do you have other stock?

Apart from a few pieces in The Market Place Artisan Store in Halesworth, no, what you see is all I have. I am constantly sewing, so there are new pieces each week, and when I do an in person event, I bring everything with me: you can never tell what someone will be looking for.
